Bassrider is modelled after an analogue bass preamp. The unique circuit behind this effect makes it a weapon of choice to pump up your bass guitar.

First stage will create a notch in the frequency range, which gives a good hint about the concept behind the design of this preamp : enhancing the bottom end of bass guitar frequency range while leaving room to top frequencies to let attacks, picking and fretting noises pass through, providing a boomy and yet precise sound.

Opamp based "presence" acts like a classical opamp gain stage and will add gain to and change the tone of a (rather hi) frequency band correpsonding to bass guitar higher harmonics that make the attack sound brighter and more snappy.

Drive stage will push frequencies below that range into clipping.

Next stages will further increase mid scooping, and EQ stage will let you cut / boost bass and hi frequenies further more (note : the EQ remains transparent if both knobs are set to 12 o'clock).

Finally, the "blend" knob will let you feed the EQ and output buffer with a mix of the ful chain sound or just the first stage filtered sound, letting you adjust the disortion and frequency notching amount.
